Kurt Schoen is a senior research analyst responsible for the in-depth fundamental analysis of the team’s existing and prospective equity investments. He is focused on all aspects of the equity portfolio, specializing in valuation, financial statement analysis and company due diligence. Kurt has a broad and deep knowledge of public companies across multiple industries.
Kurt has over 15 years of experience in the financial markets and is a CFA charterholder, licensed CPA, and holds a Series 65 license. He previously worked as a senior analyst for GCI Partners, a family office focused on value and special situation equities. Prior to GCI, he worked on the sell-side as a senior research associate at CLSA covering basic materials. Also, Kurt was the controller at MHR Fund Management, a distressed debt and special situation private equity firm, and started his career at KPMG. Kurt earned a BS with a double major in Finance and Accountancy from Providence College. He enjoys spending time at the beach, fishing, and playing ice hockey, golf, and beach volleyball.
